You greet Mr Bingley and find that he is accompanied by the disagreeable Mr Darcy. Fatigued by your wife’s transports of delight, you retire to your library to await Mr Bingley’s proposal of marriage to Jane. But Mr Bingley is in no hurry to press his suit, and leaves your house unattached to any of your daughters.
